In late October, I travelled to Cairns for the Australian Lawyers Alliance National Conference, which brought together plaintiff lawyers from across the country.
As a member of the ALA NSW Committee, supporting the work of the ALA is important to me. Its objective of protecting and promoting justice, freedom and the rights of the individual is closely aligned with why Aeran specialises in working with people who have received personal injury compensation.
For an injured person, achieving a settlement is enormously important, but it is not the end of the story. The financial decisions that follow can influence their security, independence and quality of life for decades.
I value the opportunity to spend time with lawyers, exchange ideas, hear about developments affecting injured people and better understand the issues they are seeing in practice.
For Aeran, staying closely connected to the personal injury legal community helps us provide informed, specialist financial advice to the clients and families who come to us, and to work effectively alongside the lawyers who have helped them achieve their settlement.
And, of course, Cairns wasn't a bad place to do it!
